WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Walhalla High School has named a new football coach.

Jeremy Grogan, who has been the assistant football coach for two years, was named as the head football coach of the Razorbacks on Monday.

Grogan is a 2004 graduate of the school and earned All-Region honors twice during his football career. He was also a weightlifting champion.

Grogan was also part of the winningest senior class in Newberry College's history during his four years of play there.

"He is great with our athletes, and they respect him very much," said Walhalla Athletic Director Hal Dunlap. "We had outstanding candidates, but (we) feel that Jeremy's enthusiasm and work ethic make him a perfect fit."

Grogan said he's looking forward to helping create leaders of tomorrow and giving back to the community and school.
