Police arrest 3 burglary suspects after chase in Longview

Police have arrested three suspected vehicle burglars after an early morning chase in Longview.

The chase started around 1:30 am, when an officer noticed suspicious activity near the 500 block of Baylor Drive. When the suspects realized they had been seen by police looking into vehicles they attempted to flee the area.

A chase ensued over a large portion of the city before police deployed spike strips in the 1400 block of Parkview Street, finally bringing the chase to an end around 2:00am.

17-year-old Adrian Cerda and 19-year-old Edwin Erique Alarcon-Najera, both of Longview were taken into custody. The third suspect is a 14-year-old juvenile.

Cerda was charged with two counts of burglary of a vehicle. Najera was charged with two counts of burglary of a vehicle and evading arrest in a vehicle.
