HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Henderson County deputies said firefighters found a marijuana-growing operation when they responded to a house fire Sunday morning.
The fire happened at 2:47 a.m. at 401 Chestnut Hill Loop Road in Gerton.
Investigators said that firefighters from several departments went to the home, and once inside they found the marijuana plants. They said deputies went to the house and seized 46 marijuana plants, growing equipment, six guns and $2,441 in cash.
Gregory Monroe, 43, who lived at the home, was charged with manufacturing marijuana. He was being held at the Henderson County jail on $6,000 bond.
Deputies said the plants had a street value of $140,800.
