SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Spartanburg police said they are looking for three people who used a scheme to steal $1,000 worth of merchandise from Walmart.
According to an incident report, the trio stole a Sony Play Station 3, a Play Station video game, a Microsoft X-box 360, clothing, candy and health products on April 1 from the Dorman Centre Walmart.
The report said that one person pushed the buggy of items away while another person fumbled with a debit card at the register. It said that when the debit card was declined, the third person said they would go stop the first person from leaving the store. It said the second person would then say he was going to get another debit card to pay for the items. All three people would never return, the report said.
The same group has used the same scheme at other Walmart stores, according to the incident report.
Anyone with information about the theft was asked to call the Spartanburg Public Safety Department at 864-596-2065.
