ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies have arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting of a gas station clerk on Thursday night.

The robbery and shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. at the Sunoco at 1717 W. Whitner St. on Thursday night.

Anderson County deputies say 23-year-old Darius Williams and 25-year-old Corey Scott were wearing dark-colored hoodies when they walked into the gas station and attempted to rob the store armed with a handgun.

Deputies said the store clerk was shot in the back after struggling with one of the men. The woman was taken to AnMed Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Both men are charged with armed robbery, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Both Williams and Scott were being held at the Anderson County Detention Center on $85,000 bond.
