COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A Central woman received an early Mother's Day gift after buying a $100,000 winning lottery ticket.
The woman told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that when she bought a ticket her son decided to buy one, too.
She won $100,000 in the $5 Money Maker scratch-off game while her son only won $15.
"Oh, I'm smiling now," she told lottery officials, saying she planned to buy a new washer, dryer, and living room furniture with the winnings.
When asked what she would share with her son, she told officials, "I'll give him another $15," she laughed. "That's all he needs."
Four top prizes of $100,000 remain in the Money Maker game. The odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 480,000.
The woman bought the winning ticket at the Pilot Travel Center at 12818 Hwy. 56 N. in Clinton, which will receive a $1,000 commission for selling the claimed ticket.
