Good morning - it's another very mild start to the day. Temperatures for most of the area are in the mid to upper 60s, with lots of Upstate spots right around 70 degrees! Highs this afternoon will be similar to yesterday's numbers - we'll hit the low 80s in the Mountains and the mid 80s in the Upstate.
In addition to the high heat, the humidity levels will stay higher. You probably felt the muggier feel to the air yesterday, and that will 'stick' with us again today (sorry for the weather pun, ha)! Like Monday, a few late-day storms will be possible in Western North Carolina, particularly in the higher terrain. Any storms in the Upstate and NE GA will be isolated, so most spots will stay dry in these locations.
We did have a few severe warnings on Monday, and we'll keep the chance of a strong/severe thunderstorm during the day today. Hail will be the main severe threat - and any storm could produce heavy downpours and frequent lightning.
Through the end of the week highs will be in record-territory, especially in the Upstate (see Kendra's post last night for the record info). Thunderstorm chances will be very low Wednesday through Friday, so most areas will see a string of dry days. The weekend will stay hot with small PM t-storm chances both Saturday and Sunday.
