$8,000 DVNF Grant Gives Veterans More Days of Care. The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (http://www.dvnf.org), a non-profit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, has awarded an $8,000 grant to Adult Care Services in Prescott, Arizona.

Adult Care Services is a non-profit organization that offers a day care center for elder individuals and veterans (http://www.adultcareservices.org). Half of the people served are veterans - as many as 50 per day receive care. Due to recent VA budget cuts, veterans services were cut from five to three days. The DVNF grant allows area veterans to attend for services more than three days a week.
“We hope our grant of $8,000 will help as many of these veterans and their families as possible,” said Raegan Rivers, Chief Administrative Officer of DVNF. “Many of families are already struggling with trying to make ends meet, and the recent VA cuts meant many veterans had to pay out of pocket for more daily care. We hope our grant is distributed to help as many veterans as possible receive more days of care per week.”
DVNF provides grants including Organizational Grants to groups who share the same goals as DVNF such as helping homeless veterans and their families. The GPS (Grant to Provide Stability) is available to help veterans and their families pay rent or mortgage bills or utility bills. To learn more on Veterans Programs, go to http://www.dvnf.org.
