GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Several communities and groups have prayer events scheduled for Thursday in honor of the National Day of Prayer.
The City of Fountain Inn has a prayer scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on the city hall grounds.
Upstate Alive has planned a prayer at the Peace Center Plaza in Downtown Greenville at 11:45 a.m.
The Beacon Drive-In Restaurant in Spartanburg has a prayer scheduled at 11:45 a.m.
The City of Anderson has a prayer planned at the Anderson County Court House at noon.
President Harry Truman declared a National Day of Prayer in 1952.
It's held the first Thursday of May each year.
