BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said no charges will be filed in the deadly shooting of a Buncombe County man, saying the shooter acted in self-defense.
On Monday, deputies were called to 57 Maney Lane in Black Mountain where they found Jeffrey Phillip Moore, who died at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Buncombe County deputies said upon their investigation and after talking with the district attorney's office, no charges will be filed against Moore's ex-wife, whom they said shot him in self-defense.
Initially, deputies said they responded to a burglary call at the home about 3:20 a.m. where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Deputies said a woman at the residence shot a possible intruder.
