Boy riding bike hit, killed in Laurens Co. crash

CROSS HILL, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers say a 12-year-old boy in Cross Hill was killed Friday night after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Laurens County.

The Laurens County coroner identified the boy as Omar Tafolla. Troopers say Tafolla was riding his bike on Puckett Ferry Road at about 6:30 p.m. when he was hit by a 2007 Ford Fusion that was driving southbound.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the collision. No charges have yet been filed.
