GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they believe the same man is behind three recent robbery attempts of Greenville hotels.

The first attempted robbery happened April 29 about 12:40 p.m. at the La Quinta Inn at 31 Old Country Road, deputies said.

Greenville County deputies said the suspect entered the hotel, showed a note that demanded money from the register, but when the employee warned him he was under surveillance, he fled on foot without taking any money.

The same day, the suspect robbed the Fairfield Inn at 48 Fisherman Lane about 8:30 p.m., according to investigators.

Deputies said he entered the hotel under the guise of renting a room, and while talking with an employee, he demanded money. The employee gave the suspect some money from the register and he fled on foot, deputies said.

On May 3, deputies said the same suspect tried to rob the Econo Lodge at 20 Interstate Court about 7:55 p.m. Deputies said the suspect entered the hotel, demanded money and told the clerk not to push the alarm, so the clerk went to a back office and called 911, prompting the suspect to flee without money.

Deputies said the suspect never showed a weapon and no one was injured during all three incidents.

He was described as male in his late 20s to 40 years old, approximately 5'10" and weighed 140 to 160 pounds.

Anyone with information pertaining to the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
