The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver of the truck was turning left onto Hayworth and hit a bump in the road, throwing her from the vehicle.

Troopers said the vehicle then ran over her foot and headed toward the pond.
About half the vehicle was underwater when emergency crews arrived. Those crews removed the remaining mail from the vehicle so that it could be dried before being sent to its final destination.
The driver was not seriously hurt, troopers said.
