The weekend is looking really nice for this time of year! Whether you are headed to the Greek Festival, a baseball game, hiking in the mountains, or catching some golf at the BMW Pro-AM, you'll enjoy your time outside! Highs will be near normal in the low 80s for the Upstate and mid 70s in the mountains. Sunny skies will dominate on Saturday, then we'll notice a few more clouds on Sunday. Storms are back in the mix next week, as a cold front approaches. Best chance for rain will probably be Tuesday.
On a side night, there's an eclipse happening this weekend. It's a partial solar eclipse, and will only be visible along the west coast and as far east at Texas. This will happen thanks to a new moon passing between the sun and the earth, which will block much of the sun's disc. It will be a really cool site, but sadly we won't get in on it on the east coast!
I am told by Roper Mountain Science Center that we'll soon get a cool view of Venus's transit. Charles St. Lucas told me that June 5 will be the day to watch the sky! It will be during the evening hours that we'll catch a view of Venus crossing between the earth and the sun. For more info on transits, click below:
