PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two masked men were on the loose after an elderly couple was assaulted during a home invasion at their home, deputies said.

Pickens County deputies were called to the Pumpkintown Highway home on Monday about 6:30 p.m. after the couple in their 70s reported that two masked men wearing black clothes and gloves broke into their home and assaulted them.

The husband told deputies that he heard a loud bang, then the men came into his room, hit him in the head multiple times with an unknown object and took several guns from his closet, according to a deputy's report.

Deputies said one of the men grabbed the wife from behind, tied her hands up with twist ties, sat her at the foot of the bed and told her, "Do not fight me."

The men took the guns outside, then came back in and demanded to know where their safe was, deputies said. One of the men was armed with a pistol, and the other had a flashlight, the victims told deputies.

Deputies said during the invasion, the men repeatedly made references to a man named Travis, saying, "You can blame Travis for this," but the victims said they do not know a Travis.

The victims described the suspects as each about 5'8" and of a stocky build, weighing about 200 pounds, according to the report.

The husband received minor lacerations to his hand during the attack, deputies said.

Deputies said the suspects are still on the loose, and if anyone has any information they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 898-KOPS.
