Eeva and Mark Moen (Spartanburg Co. Sheriff's Office)
SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A Spartanburg couple was arrested Sunday after deputies said their children called for help.
According to an incident report, Eeva and Mark Moen's children, ages 8 and 6, called a family friend and said that their parents were passed out. The report said that the children told the family friend that they were hiding in a closet because they were scared.
The report said that when the family friend and his wife showed up at the house, they found Eeva Moen extremely intoxicated and stumbling around the apartment. The report said that Mark Moen was found passed out on a couch. The report said that the friend then called deputies.
According to the report, deputies arrived and questioned Eeva Moen about the whereabouts of her children, and she said she left them at the pool with a man. The report said she later said she did not know where they were.
The Moens were arrested and charged with child neglect. Eeva Moen was being held at the county jail on $3,000 bond. Mark Moen was released on $3,000 bond.
The children were placed in the custody of the family friend.
