Severe storms and flooding break-down

Storms have been firing this afternoon and evening as an upper low and associated front hang out across the Carolinas.  Hail, lightning and heavy rain have been the main threats thus far, but damaging winds can't be ruled out.  Expect strong storms to drift through the eastern Upstate this evening, then we should notice a clearing trend overnight.

A Flash Flood Watch is still out for Buncombe, McDowell, Yancey and Mitchell counties.  We've seen so much rain in those areas that any additional rain could cause some big flooding issues.

We'll have storms once again on Wednesday, but coverage will be less.  We'll be ushering out an upper level low and welcoming an upper level high late Wednesday into Thursday.  This will mean a lower storm chance by late week, and HOT temps!  Highs will reach the low 90s by Friday and the weekend in the Upstate!
