GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Hundreds of professional cyclists will converge in downtown Greenville this weekend for the USA Cycling Pro Championships.
The individual time trials start at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
On Monday, the main event begins. The 112-mile road race consists of three circuits in downtown, then heads out to Paris Mountain before ending with three more downtown circuits.
This year's championship will be Greenville's seventh and final time to play host.
Hometown cycling star George Hincapie, who placed second in last year's race, said the tournament has been a great event for the city.
"I'm sad to see it go," Hincapie said. "It's been a great run here, and we've been able to showcase cycling."
Hincapie said he thinks the move will help showcase cycling to other children.
The cycling tournament moves to Chattanooga, TN.
