A Spartanburg man was accused of peeping into local apartments looking for women, police said.

Spartanburg Public Safety officers were called to a Fernwood Glendale Road apartment about 1 a.m. Tuesday where a man reported seeing the suspect looking into the rear door of an apartment where he lives.

When officers arrived and walked around the area, they found the suspect looking into another apartment, police said.

The suspect, 61-year-old Richard Blalock, was arrested and charged with peeping tom/eavesdropping. His bond was set at $5,000. Following his arrest, he first told officers he was looking for his dog then admitted to looking for women, police said.

The police report said he resembled the suspect wanted in a peeping tom incident at a home within the county limits and officers forwarded their information to the sheriff's office to investigate.

Deputies said at best, Blalock is a person of interest in their case and will speak with him regarding those incidents but no charges have been filed.
