Tough Forecast for Thursday - FOX Carolina 21

Tough Forecast for Thursday

Posted: Updated:

Prior to this afternoon, many of the maps and pieces of analysis we looked at during the last couple of days indicated the clouds would be out of here for Thursday and a lot of sunshine would be back.

Well, it now looks as if the clouds may be a bit slower to leave during the day tomorrow.  For the morning hours, we'll mention a good chance for some patchy fog due to an easterly wind early Thursday morning.  Watch out for that in some areas as you get to work.  A mostly cloudy sky lasting for about half of the day will mean tomorrow's forecast high temperatures have to be lowered just a bit.  It looks like highs will reach the upper 70s in many Upstate/NE Georgia towns by afternoon with Western NC highs climbing into the middle 70s.  I do think we all will see some sunshine Thursday afternoon, so the forecast hasn't completely been reversed.

Along with the clouds, there will be another chance for a few passing showers around midday and during the afternoon, but the coverage of this rain won't be widespread.

Just as Alex mentioned this morning, our weekend forecast is looking summer-like as highs will get back into the 80s for Friday, Saturday and Sunday with only a slim chance for a brief, afternoon thunderstorm each day.
