GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The sound of gunshots rang out at the Boulder Creek Apartment Complex back in June 2006, and deputies found NiShan Huff shot to death. On Thursday, six years later on the anniversary of her death, family members and friends gathered outside of the apartment in her honor.

"Father, we thank you Lord for what you're doing here," said Hasker Hudgens, a minister with Redemption World Outreach Center.

Music and prayers filled the hearts of those gathered to honor NiShan Huff.

Huff was killed in six years ago, but no one has ever been arrested in connection with her death.

"We know her daughter may not be with us today, but her memory lives on," said the Rev. Richie Stoddard with the New Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Piedmont.

Every night, Sacha Huff says she prays for her daughter.

"We come here to burn a candle and I burn a candle every night," she said. "I'm not hating nobody, all I want is closure."

As candles were lit, family members said they shined as bright as NiShan Huff.

"I mainly miss her smile," said Chicketa Huff, NiShan's Huff's sister.

Family members asked for answers and encouraged the crowd and the community to tell what they know. Investigators said they have not received any leads in a while, but they hope that changes.

"Someone has to know something, there's no perfect crime," Chicketa Huff said.

They want the community to come together and take a stand.

If you have any information, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
