Cash stashed in Bible stolen during burglary

UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

During a burglary at a home in Union on Thursday, the victim said someone stole $730 in cash that was hidden in a Bible.

Union police said a Boyce Street homeowner returned home about 8:30 p.m. to find his front door kicked in, and someone had rummaged through the inside of his home.

The victim said along with an alarm clock and DVD player, the only thing missing was the cash hidden inside of a Bible kept in the living room, according to a police report.

The homeowner told police while he did not know who broke in, he had mentioned that he kept money in the Bible to people, but he didn't know their names.
