GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
It is one of the most intense of exercises under extremely hot conditions, but Southern Om, a local yoga studio, is more popular than ever as it celebrates its two-year anniversary.
Om is located right next to Whole Foods on Woodruff Road and since it first opened, the studio says they have opened the eyes to many in the upstate about the health benefits of the thousands of yoga poses.
Southern Om is especially unique because their classes take place in hot temperatures, with their Southern 26 course conducted in 105 degree heat.
Pace Beattie owns the studio and says the hot, hot heat has great benefits, "the difficult poses and high temperatures allow your body to flush out all of the toxins you collect each day, and you feel amazing once you finish."
Beattie has a staff of several instructors who each have their own style, and they say Yoga has helped treat people with all sorts of injuries or help aid with arthritis too.
