CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
TigerNet.com reported Thursday night that the nation's top football recruit committed to play for Clemson next year.
Defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, of Logansville, GA, is 6'5" tall and 275 pounds.
The big announcement comes days after Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney said rumors that the Tigers may move from the Atlantic Coast Conference to the Big 12 Conference have hurt his recruiting efforts.
Swinney already has signed two of Nkemdiche's Grayson High School teammates - David Kamara and Wayne Gallman.
Nkemdiche's commitment is big news for the Tigers after losing last year's top recruit, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, to the South Carolina Gamecocks.
