OMAHA, NE (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Gamecocks moved to the second round of the College World Series with a win against the No. 1 Florida Gators in Omaha on Sunday morning.

Florida took an early lead in the game with two runs in the third inning, but the Gamecocks came roaring back with a whopping five runs to Florida's one run in the fifth.

Thanks to a series of blunders by the Gators, South Carolina was able to extend their lead with two runs in the top of the ninth.

South Carolina advances to play against in-conference foe Arkansas on Monday night.

Florida moves to an elimination game against Kent State on Monday afternoon.

The Gamecocks have now won 22 NCAA championship games in a row.

South Carolina is hoping for a three-peat at the NCAA tournament, having won the title for the past two years.
