COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A young couple that works at an Anderson veterinary clinic is $250,000 richer after making the trip to Columbia to claim their Mega Millions ticket.

South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the winner checked her ticket online at work, and it wasn't long before the celebration broke out and everyone was asking to see the ticket for themselves.

The woman bought the ticket at the Quick Point on Whitehall Road and said to win was "wild." The 20-somethings said they plan to pay off their house and save for the future.

The winner told lottery officials she's hoping this big check will give her the chance to finally start using her cosmetology training. Her husband wants to go back to school, but until this ticket came into their lives he didn't see that happening.

"We feel blessed and free," she said. She told officials that she started buying lotto tickets about a year ago because would never win if she didn't play, and her husband says now he will not give her hard a time about buying tickets.

"She can buy a ticket whenever she wants," he said.

The Quick Point in Anderson received a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
