OMAHA, NE (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Gamecocks moved to an elimination game after a 2-1 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks at the College World Series in Omaha on Monday night.

The Razorbacks scored earlier in the game after a sacrifice bunt helped bring in the first run of the game in the top of the first inning.

In the top of the fourth, Arkansas added another run to the score.

The Gamecocks answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the fifth.

In the end, the Razorbacks proved too much for South Carolina, keeping the Gamecocks scoreless for the rest of the game.

South Carolina might get some revenge on Arkansas if they can win the elimination game against Kent State at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

This is South Carolina's first College World Series loss in 22 games.

The Gamecocks are hoping for a three-peat, having won the championship title for the past two years.
