Good morning! It's going to be a hot Tuesday, and today happens to be the last day of spring! Summer officially begins just after 7 PM on Wednesday... although it won't really feel any different between the two days.
It's all about the heat and humidity from here out (at least through the 7-day), as our Tuesday highs will rise into the mid 80s in the Mountains and near 90° in the Upstate. You probably felt the mugginess outside on Monday... and humidity will creep up over the next few days as dewpoints rise. An isolated shower or t-storm is possible this afternoon in Western North Carolina, while the Upstate will stay dry.
Tomorrow brings nearly the same forecast - isolated WNC shower or storm but dry across the Upstate - although highs will warm a degree or two. We'll hit the upper 80s in the Mountains and the low 90s in the Upstate. Dewpoints will rise a degree or two as well.
Temperatures and dewpoints will continue to rise through the end of the week - so you can expect a hot and humid Thursday, Friday and weekend. The end of the week and weekend will bring small PM shower and t-storm chances... so there aren't any soaking rains in our 7-day forecast. With that said, select areas could get some downpours if a storm moves overhead.
Try to stay cool, and enjoy the last few hours of spring!
