EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A Pickens man was arrested recently after deputies said robbed a Spinx Store at gunpoint.
Pickens County deputies said the robbery happened June 7 about 11:30 p.m. at the store on Farrs Bridge Road in Easley.
When the suspect entered the store, the clerk was vacuuming, he approached her and demanded money from the registers at gunpoint, deputies said.
The clerk gave him $52 cash and he fled the store, investigators said. During the robbery, deputies said he was wearing bandanas over his face as a mask.
Cornelius Burgess, 22, was charged with armed robbery and is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Deputies said the robbery investigation is ongoing.
