Gaffney mom accused of killing 13-week-old son

GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A teenage Gaffney mother was arrested last week after state investigators said she killed her 13-week-old son.

According to a news release from the State Law Enforcement Division, 19-year-old Fantasia Barnett-Butler was charged with homicide by child abuse.

According to the arrest warrant, Barnett-Butler's son died on April 22, 2010, under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to human life.

The Cherokee County Coroner's Office said that the boy was squeezed to death.

Barnett-Butler was being held in the Cherokee County jail.
