SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A Seneca man died after hitting a Clemson Area Transit bus head-on in Seneca Friday, according to the coroner.
Oconee County Deputy Coroner Greg Long said the man died at the scene after the car he was driving crossed the midline of South Walnut Street near the intersection of Wells Highway in Seneca, striking the bus.
Long said witnesses reported seeing the victim slumped over the steering wheel at the time of the collision.
The coroner identified the victim as 46-year-old Preston Davis. Davis died from the result of blunt force trauma injuries sustained in the crash, Long said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Troopers said several passengers were taken to the hospital.
