NEWBERRY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they are looking for two people after they shot at a pedestrian then hit him with their car near Newberry on Sunday morning.

Newberry County deputies said about 2:45 a.m. the victim was walking along Highway 121 near Calvary Church Road when a car pulled up next to him, the passenger yelled at him then fired two shots at him.

The man told deputies he tried to run away but the car turned back around, striking him and knocking him down before fleeing.

The victim only received minor injuries and denied medical treatment, deputies said.

Investigators said a woman was driving the car - which was described as a light blue Buick, possibly a 1998 model - and the passenger was a man wearing a brown shirt.

Anyone with any information about this incident is being asked to contact the Newberry County Sheriff's Office at 803-321-2222.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
