GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Upstate drivers are seeing continued relief from gas prices compared to drivers across the nation and summer prices in 2011.
The average cost per gallon for gas in Greenville was $2.91 on Sunday while the national average was $3.45, according to GasBuddy.com.
The price per gallon fell 7.7 cents in the past week in Greenville, almost 30 cents lower than last month and are 33.2 cents per gallon cheaper than the same day last year.
"The national average has now dropped to its lowest level since Feb. 4," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
DeHaan said gasoline can be found as cheap as $2.73 per gallon Monday in Taylors.
A majority of gas stations are featuring prices that have come down significantly in the last month, DeHaan said.
