ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said they have made an arrest and recovered the stolen equipment that belongs to an Asheville band.

Asheville police said on Thursday they arrested a woman who admitted to taking the band's musical instruments from a car on June 14.

Officers said they identified 20-year-old Megan Cody of Mars Hill after she sold some of the gear to Cash Masters.

Investigators were able to recover the remaining stolen items and returned them to the band.

FOX Carolina spoke with one of the victims Michael McBride, who is a member of the band Sonmi, a few days after the theft.

The gear was stolen from a car and when they woke up the day after a gig, they found a synthesizer, keyboard and an audio interface missing, along with several cables. They said the total loss was between $2,500 and $3,000.

"I think (the thief or thieves) were going around cars and pulling on handles until a door opened and they hit the jackpot," said band member McBride.

Since the theft, the band received a tremendous amount of help from the Asheville music scene. The Moog Store, which also held Sonmi's last concert before the theft, has loaned them equipment and a donation fund was set up online.

Cody was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and obtaining property by false pretense.
