Police need help finding suspect who hit cyclist then fled

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A cyclist was seriously injured after Asheville police said someone hit him and fled the scene Thursday night.

Officers were called to Airport Road where they found the man had been hit from behind while riding his bicycle south in the far right lane.

The victim was taken to Mission Hospital where police said he is in serious but stable condition as of Friday about noon.

Police said evidence at the scene indicated the car might have been a BMW. Their investigation is ongoing.
