Deputies said they arrested a Tuxedo, NC, woman after she ran over and killed another man Friday night following a domestic dispute.
Henderson County deputies said they were first called to a fatal hit-and-run crash along U.S. Highway 176 in East Flat Rock near West Blue Ridge Road. Upon further investigation, deputies said they determined the deadly crash was a homicide.
Once the victim was identified, deputies said they went to notify family at a home on Summit Knoll Park in Tuxedo where they found the car used in the hit-and-run attack and its driver, 24-year-old Morgan Bishop.
Deputies said prior to the crash, Bishop had a domestic disturbance with the victim, 45-year-old Roger Moody, of Tuxedo, at a home in East Flat Rock.
Following the dispute, Moody left on foot and Bishop tried to follow him, but couldn't, so she returned to the house and got in her car, deputies said. As she was driving down 176, deputies said Bishop saw Moody walking near the Time Saver and West Blue Ridge Road, ran over him, and fled the scene.
Bishop was arrested and charged with murder. She is being held at the county jail on a $500,000 bond awaiting her first hearing Monday.
Officers from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, the North Carolina Highway Patrol, and District Attorney's office worked jointly to bring the charges in this investigation.
