SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Spartanburg County deputies said two women were shot Monday morning during two different incidents.
According to deputies, about 1:30 a.m. a car pulled into the Raceway Gas Station on Asheville Highway when the two people inside the vehicle heard a loud noise.
Deputies said the two people thought they heard fireworks go off twice, then the female passenger realized she had been shot in the hip. The driver called 911 and victim was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment, deputies said.
About four hours later, another woman was shot and found lying in the road along Farley Avenue near Adair Street in the Una Sexon community, according to deputies.
The female victim told deputies that she had been dropped off at this intersection by four black males in a blue jeep. She told deputies that one of the men she knows only by "John John" shot her in the lower back.
Deputies said she was awake and talking, but she was taken to the hospital and they are waiting to interview her to find out more about the shooting.
Investigators searched both areas but have been unable to produce and leads or suspects in either case. They have not said if the shootings were connected.
If you have any information about either of the shootings, call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
