ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Asheville police said they arrested a Fletcher teenager in connection with a hit-and-run crash involving a cyclist.
On Thursday night, police responded to Airport Road where they found the cyclist had been hit from behind while riding his bike in the far right lane.
The man was taken to Mission Hospital where he was being treated for serious injures in the intensive care unit, police said.
On Saturday, officers said David Coon, 18, turned himself in at the police department. They said he was driving a 1999 silver BMW when he hit the cyclist and fled.
Coon was charged with felony hit-and-run involving serious bodily injuries. Coon was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
