CENTRAL, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Coroners said an Anderson man died from chest trauma after an accident in Anderson County. It happened Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Martin Sausage Road and Liberty Highway, near Central.
Troopers said a vehicle traveling west on Liberty Highway was traveling on the right side of the road when the driver struck a tree.
Coroners said speed was a factor in the collision.
Coroners have identified the driver as Miguel Gil, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroners said a passenger in the car was taken to Greenville Memorial but is expected to be OK.
Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
