Matthew and Tiffany Garrett are newlyweds.
"It's extremely special because you find a guy that you want to marry," Tiffany Garrett said.
Her new husband, Matthew Garrett, is a firefighter. So, the couple held their wedding reception at the Reidville Fire Department.
"It was just unbelievable," Matthew Garrett said.
But during the reception, the bride's mother noticed something wrong when she picked up the couple's gift box.
"At that time she found that the back was ripped open," Matthew Garrett said.
The Garretts said all of their money, and gift cards were gone.
"It makes me feel real bad that somebody would come to somebody's wedding and take the money that they're looking forward to. We were going to use it to start our new lives together," Matthew Garrett said.
So, after they signed their marriage license, the Garretts said they went to the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office and filled out an incident report.
"I mean it's the most important day of your life and somebody's trying to ruin it," Tiffany Garrett said.
They don't know who stole their money, but they said they had plans to pay bills.
"We also wanted to make our first house payment and go on a honeymoon," Matthew Garrett said.
The Garretts said the honeymoon is on hold, but at least they still have one another.
Donations are being accepted at the Reidville Fire Department for the Garretts.
