Greer man dies in motorcycle crash

DUNCAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County coroners said a Greer man died after crashing his motorcycle along Barnette Road near East Hampton Boulevard in Duncan on Friday night.

Coroners have identified the man as 34-year-old Andrew Von Childress.

Investigators said Von Childress was ejected from his motorcycle.

Investigators said the crash happened less than a mile away from Von Childress' home, where he was last seen leaving just before 8 p.m. A passer-by discovered the crash around 9:30 p.m.

Coroners said Von Childress was pronounced dead at the scene.

Duncan police are still investigating, to determine the cause of the crash.
