GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday that it added a new flight to New York's LaGuardia Airport from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

The new flight is part of the final phase of the creation of a hub for the airline at LaGuardia.

GSP representative Rosylin Weston said the airline added an afternoon flight to the New York-area airport. She said the airline already offered a morning flight.

Weston said the airport is always excited for new flights because they offer customers more options.

"We see Greenville as a key business market with the demand that can support two daily flights to New York," Delta Air Lines said in a statement to FOX Carolina.

The new flight brings the total number of Delta flights from GSP to 17, Weston said. She said the airline has flights to Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit and LaGuardia.
