SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Spartanburg County deputies said a man stole $2,500 worth of navigation units from a Duncan gas station last week.
The theft happened about 2:30 a.m. July 7 at the Pilot Travel Center at 1405 E. Main St.
Deputies said that during an inventory of a storage room, an employee noticed that 15 GPS units were missing. They said that the door to the room, which is normally locked, had been left open because of a water leak.
According to an incident report, surveillance video showed a man used a garbage can to smuggle out the stolen navigation systems.
The man was described as white and wearing a San Francisco Giants baseball jersey.
Anyone with information about the theft was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
