SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Walmart employees said they caught two Lexington brothers trying to shoplift popcorn chicken and batteries by hiding it in their pants, deputies said.
On Tuesday, deputies were called to the Walmart on Highway 9 in Boiling Springs after the loss prevention officer said she saw the brothers put the items in their back pockets and walk out of the store.
When she confronted them, deputies said the men took off running and jumped into someone's van parked at the nearby gas pumps.
Another employee followed them and told the van's driver the two had taken items from the Walmart, prompting the van's owner to scream for them to get out, deputies said.
The deli chicken and batteries were returned to the store and the brothers, 22-year-old James White and 18-year-old William White, were arrested and both charged with shoplifting.
