Ever since thermometers went past 100° on several occasions around two weeks ago, I have had a mental block towards the high heat ever since. Now that I have brought the topic back to the forefront, I'm hoping I didn't put a jinx on the whole thing. Extreme heat is not happening this week! Although, it will be very humid most days. Still, the good news is that we won't get close to 100° during any afternoon this week.
Monday & Tuesday: Expect a bit more sunshine than clouds to go along with the haze and humidity. Also, temperatures will be in the 80s most of the day and eventually reach the low 90s each afternoon. Both days will include only a 20%-30% of afternoon, spotty rain or brief storms.
Wednesday: We'll have a mix of sun and clouds by the middle of the week. Due to the high level of humidity, scattered storms will develop during the late afternoon, but you'll only have a 30-40% chance of a quick, soaking rain where you live.
Thursday, Friday & Saturday: By late week, temperatures will come down some. Expect a slightly higher opportunity for some rain... 40%-60% across the Western Carolinas. Highs will remain in the 80s because of the added cloud-cover and higher chance for some rain/storms.
