BREVARD, NC (FOX Carolina) -

No injuries were reported after a small airplane crashed at the Transylvania County Airport on Monday afternoon.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the Piper PA32 aircraft ran off the end of a runway about 3:10 p.m.

Little River Fire Department Capt. Richard Sampson said the pilot ran out of runway while landing and landed in some trees in a nearby wooded area.

Sampson said that he believes the plane was arriving from Virginia.

Two people were onboard the plane at the time of the crash, Bergen said.

The FAA was investigating the crash.
