Laurens man nets $200K with lotto ticket

COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Laurens man took home $200,000 after he bought two scratch-off lottery tickets, and it isn't the first time he's won some big cash with lottery tickets.

The South Carolina Education Lottery said the man, who did not want to be identified, bought two $200,000 Hot Streak tickets from the Harvest Market at 1200 Greenwood Rd.

The man said he was disappointed after failing to win the big money with the first ticket, but was shocked by the top-prize win on the second ticket.

Lottery officials said the same man won a five-figured prize several years ago, and spent that money on his family. They said that the man plans to do a few things for himself this time around, starting with repairs to his home.

The Harvest Market received a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.

There are three top prizes remaining in the Hot Streak game. The odds of winning are 1 in 480,000.
