IVA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
An Anderson man was arrested after police said he killed his stepfather and injured his mother during a robbery in Iva on Sunday night.
The stabbing happened about 8 p.m. at 920 E. Front St.
Iva Police Chief Thomas Miller said that Robert Frost held his mom at knifepoint and stabbed his stepfather, James Davenport, several times. He said Frost stole money from his mother's wallet.
Anderson County Chief Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman said Frost's parents fought back, hitting him with a baseball bat. He said that Frost walked out of the home and collapsed, where he was arrested when police arrived.
Police said an officer could hear a woman in the house yelling for help when another officer arrived to handcuff Frost. They found his mom lying on the floor in the kitchen, and Davenport lying on the floor in the front room.
Boseman said Davenport died from a cut to the main artery in his neck. He said Frost's mother was treated for minor injuries.
Miller said that warrants, charging Frost with murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, first-degree burglary and armed robbery, will be signed Monday night.
Frost appeared in court Tuesday morning and was denied bond.
Police said Frost has a history with law enforcement. Miller said Frost had been arrested twice for arson and tried to slit his stepfather's throat on a family trip in Mississippi back in 2001.
