The Morning News just ended and I have already noticed some storm development upstream (in eastern TN, eastern KY and also close to the NC/TN border). This is likely a clear indication of where things are headed or what may happen later today.
This setup (storms developing upstream & moving from the north to south) is similar to yesterday and I think we will see another day where spotty afternoon showers and storms push into the Upstate and northeast Georgia after moving overhead in parts of the NC mountains. Also, futurecast hinted at some storm development this evening
Importantly, just like yesterday, the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has left us OUT of any sort of risk for severe storms ( http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk_1300.gif ). Still, the high humidity in place this afternoon & evening may spark some intense thunderstorms around here despite what SPC thinks will happen. We'll hope for the rain without the wind damage or loss of electricity!
