The second day of the show started out slightly more painfully. I had developed blisters abound on my feet. It didn't help that I spent Wednesday at the San Diego Zoo(Poor planning on my part). Let me take a second to go ahead and tell you something that no one else tells you. Comic-con is a LOT of walking. Everyone always says, "You have to go to Comic-con. Comic-con is so great!" While these statements are true, the dark side of Comic-con is the pain it can inflict on the unwary. I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday wearing two pairs of socks with my sneakers to help cope with the pain in my feet. You won this round Comic-con.

I was excited on Friday for two reasons. I had two press interviews lined up, both of which had people that I've been a fan of for a long time. The first was with the cast of Dan Vs. which airs on The Hub TV Network. It stars Dan(played by Curtis Armstrong) his best friend Chris(Dave Foley) and Chris's wife Elise(Paget Brewster). It's about the misadventures they fall into because of Dan's misguided quest for justice.  For a show that airs on a "kids network" I think the humor is very adult. When asking the cast about this concept, they told me that when they were kids they hated when they felt like a cartoon talked down to them, and they were glad to be part of a cartoon that didn't do that with their viewers.

Sadly Curtis Armstrong couldn't be there, but Dave Foley, who I've loved since the Kids in the Hall days, Paget Brewster(Criminal Minds), and panel moderator Tom Kenny(SpongeBob SquarePants) were all there and made the roundtable discussion lively and funny. You could tell that they played well off one another and they all enjoy working together in the studio.

Later that day I had more roundtable discussions with the cast and creative forces behind Tron:Uprising. Now let me stop here for a moment and say that this show is AMAZING. If you are a Tron fan, then you will love what it's adding to the world of Tron. It airs Thursdays on Disney XD and it takes place between the original Tron from 1982 and Tron Legacy from 2010. They have a great cast for the show including Elijah Wood, Bruce Boxleitner, Tricia Helfer, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen, Emanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, and Reginald VelJohnson.  The show is about Tron's quest to find a program to take his place and lead a rebellion against the uprising by Clu.  If you haven't caught this cartoon but you are a Tron fan I HIGHLY recommend it. It's one of those cartoons that while it's okay for a kid to watch, it's definitely made for those of us who have been fans for the last 30 years.

After the panel was over, I went walking around the convention center and took a few pictures of people dressed up. There is no lack of imagination at Comic-con if you can dream it, then someone will build it. While I personally feel like I saw less costumes this year, there diffinately was no shortage. I relaxed the rest of the day knowing that I only had one more interview on Saturday to do, but it was with two living legends.
